Appendix 4694. Certification.

Latest version.
  • The Environmental Health Division shall periodically conduct examinations to determine the competency of applicants to test and make reports on backflow prevention devices. The examinations shall consist of both written and practical formats. Those persons who are determined to be competent shall be issued a "certificate of competence" valid for two (2) years, and shall be issued such identification as deemed appropriate by the Director of the Environmental Health Division. A certificate of competence relates only to testing and making reports on backflow prevention devices and does not certify competence in cross-connection control. Any person desiring certification shall make written application to the Environmental Health Division. Each application shall be accompanied by a non-refundable fee in an amount to be set by resolution of the Board of Supervisors. Each applicant must show proof that the applicant has attended and passed a backflow prevention course approved by the Environmental Health Division Director.
