§ 5606-1. Nature of variances.

  • A variance is for floodplain management purposes only. Insurance premium rates are determined by statute according to actuarial risk and will not be modified by the granting of a variance. Variances pertain to property and are not personal in nature. In order to vindicate the purposes of this Chapter, variances should be granted only as a last resort and only to the extent necessary.
